Bistros was the term applied to a small Parisian restaurant or cafe and certainly in the UK the line between what is a Cafe and what is a Bistro is quite blurred and so there are many chairs that are candidates for this section. Despite this we have assembled a collection of traditional wooden and metal chairs that we feel would like great within any establishment calling itself a Bistro.
Cross back dining chairs are proving very popular at the time or writing we offer these in a traditional Birch bentwood frame in a choice of colours theses are often seen in a distinctive painted and distressed look. This French Bistro chair owes its beginnings way back in 1859 when Bentwood chairs were the norn. The German-Austrian designer Michael Thonet (1796-1871) was responsible for many of the designs are seeing a resurgence in popularity today.
We have a number of traditional metal chairs which also come under the Bistro heading including the Tulipan and Venus which can be seen in cafes and bars up and down the country. Please contact our design team if you a planning a Bistro or Cafe we will provide 3D rendered drawings to enabe you to visualise your space at no cost and in support of our products.
