The need for recycling has never been more important. The need for being greener is on the increase is on the increase across all industries and companies are trying to find methods of reducing their carbon footprint. There are many ways to do this, for example, you could reduce the amount of travelling. Even office furniture manufacturers are taking note of this and many of them are beginning to look at greener options and produce office furniture such as office chairs, soft seating and office desks that are recyclable and are made using production processes that have low CO2 emissions. One of these is a new soft seating range made by OCee design called the Dishy range.
This is one of OCee designs first development in this area as they wanted to move away from their reputation for producing operator and task seating. The idea was to create a range of seating that would enhance any breakout, meeting or executive area.
The original inspiration for the Dishy range was square shapes and tableware. To quote OCee design “The sculpting of inner and outer circles form a 3D shape which cocoons the cushioning that rises from the seats horizon. By elongating the shape, a chair and sofa collection offers a unique solution to any corporate or hotel environment.”
These chairs are available in high or low backed versions and are available with a choice of either a four legged or swivel base in chrome or powder coated steel. The Dishy itself is a minimum of 95% recyclable and OCee design has been accredited to ISO 14001 and has recently achieved membership of the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP). The company continually reviews its environmental policies under its R4 environmental charter to Reduce, Reuse, Refurbish and Recycle.
