Home office furniture sales have been on the increase recently and the trends suggest that this has something to do with the Olympic Games being held in London in 4 months’ time. The reason for this is that a lot of office workers are opting to work from home during the games and for good reason to. Traffic during the Olympics is expected to be at an all-time high as people from outside the city will flock to the capital to watch the games so trying to get to and from work will be a nightmare.
Retail giants have said that this year sales of home office furniture and office chairs are up by as much as 14% compared with last year with most office furniture being delivered to London in particular the South East. Other commuter areas close to the capital have had a noticeable increase in sales of office furniture where the workers are likely to be affected by the increased number of visitors using public transport.
When creating a home office in your house there are a few things that you are going to want to consider. Firstly you will want to try and find an appropriate area to work. This should be away from the normal flow of traffic and a place that is free from distractions in particular noise. The room that you designate should be away from areas such as the living room, kitchen or other areas that create noise.
Also you are going to want to make sure that the room that you will be working in is well lit. Natural light is best for this but if this is an issue, desk lamps are a must. Space is another issue as you will want to make sure that you have enough space to fit your office chair comfortably and you have enough room to move around. Not only this, but you must remember to leave adequate space for office storage.
