Workout While You Surf the Web

9th January 2012

The office chair was originally invented to increase the productivity of clerical workers. The problem with this is that due to the amount of hours that we spend in front of the computer, either at work or surfing the internet is increasing. With this it means that the amount of time we spend sitting in these chairs is also increasing. Sitting causes a rise in blood pressure as well as our blood sugar levels, and not only this can increase the risk of repetitive strain injuries.

The Fitdesk is a unique idea that combines exercise whilst you work. In essence the bike has a small desk fitted to the front of the bike where the handles should be and allows you to rest your elbows on the bike which alleviates the stress on the arms and allows you to work comfortably.

Another great feature about this desk is that it is extremely compact. It can be folded up easily and allows for easy storage when not in use. The advantage of this is that it does not take up a lot of space and also, it means that you do not need a home office.

The laptop is placed on a firm grip platform that guarantees stability and also includes straps for extra security. This desk is currently patent pending, however as it stands there is nothing like this on the market to date that combines a fitness bike with an office workstation, but with the way that we are heading, there should be more products like this in future.
