Some Stress Relieving Tips When Working an Office

3rd August 2011

It may sound odd but running water has been proven to relieve stress. Just the sound of it can evoke emotions of calm and peace. It is therefore perhaps a good idea to invest in a table top fountain or small water feature that can sit on top of your desk or workstation.

2.       It may sound obvious, but a good ergonomic chair, whilst helping to alleviate back pain, it can also help you to sit comfortably at your desk, which therefore helps you to relax.

3.       Another sense that you can use to help stress relief is your sense of smell. Aromatherapy is a great way to relax you and put you in a better mood. Lavender and Rosemary are often used, however you must check that you are allowed to use these in your office as some people could find them annoying or a distraction.

4.       Once again this also seems obvious, but a stress relief ball can have a great effect on your stress levels. It is not distracting, so you can carry on with work and will not distract anyone else within the office.

5.       Finally the position of your desk or where you place items on your bench, can help as it provides change which is linked to stress. Also try to keep your desk tidy as a tidy space means a tidy mind!
